Caleb Clark grew up in the rural Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. In high school he studied printmaking at Il Bisonte International School of Graphic Arts in Florence Italy. After graduating from high school, Caleb moved to Asheville, NC to attend The Fine Arts League of the Carolinas. Over the next four years he immersed himself in studying the craft and techniques of drawing, painting and fresco, eventually apprenticing under the school’s founder, Benjamin F Long IV. Caleb currently teaches and works in Asheville’s River Arts District. 

Caleb has been nationally and internationally recognized for his portrait and landscape painting. He received a Certificate of Excellence from the Portrait Society of America during the 27th International Portrait Competition. His painting Night Game was a finalist during the Almenara Art Prize 2025. in 2026, Caleb’s portrait painting was selected as a finalist in the New Salem Museum and Academy of Fine Art’s annual International Painting Competition. 

Caleb’s recent work is focused on paintings set at night. In these nocturnes, he explores how the atmosphere of light, or lack thereof, brings out the uncanny in the ordinary.
